Catalyst Research & Communication is a women-owned small business that brings seasoned expertise to your health education and health promotion efforts. Located in metropolitan Washington, DC, Catalyst serves the government and nonprofit sectors. Originally known as Catalyst Health Concepts, Catalyst was founded in 2006 by partners Gloria Stables, Ph.D., R.D., and Donna Lloyd-Kolkin, Ph.D. Together, they bring over 50 years of combined experience in the field.
Dr. Stables has over 25 years of experience in education, community-based education programs, and behavior change research and practice. As National Director of the National Cancer Institute’s 5 A Day for Better Health Program, a nationwide nutrition social marketing campaign, she oversaw development of mass communication education materials, curricula, and program design and evaluation. A Registered Dietitian, Dr. Stables holds an M.S. in Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Adult Learning.
Dr. Lloyd-Jones (formerly Lloyd-Kolkin) has over 30 years of experience in health promotion and health communication. She began her career at Far West Laboratory for Educational Research and Development (now WestEd), co-founded Health & Education Communication Consultants, and previously directed the health communication business practice at Abt Associates. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication.
